Come and fully enjoy the fauna and flora of the Zwin Nature Park during the summer holidays. Along the hut trail and in the Zwin plain, you will meet various Zwin guides on your path.
Enjoy a beautiful natural area with all kinds of activities for nature lovers.
Watch the breeding islands!
In the observation hut or by the viewing wall, the Zwin guide is ready to explain about the birds that use the breeding islands to rest and feed. With telescopes, you can admire the birds on the island up close. Be sure to ask the guide for advice!
The Zwin guide is present from 11:00 to 16:30.

A closer look at freshwater creatures
Discover the fascinating world of small freshwater creatures from the lab hut. Have you ever thought about observing a damselfly larva or a water flea up close? Look with us and admire the wonders of these tiny creatures in detail.
The Zwin guide is present from 10:30 to 16:00.

The art and science of ringing
Are you curious about the importance of bird ringing and want to know how the bird ringer works?
The scientific research takes place at the ringing hut – ringers are present from August 1st, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 AM (depending on weather conditions).

De Zwinplain - the tidal area
Meet the Zwin guide at the Zwin plain and learn all about the unique tidal area and the life in the mudflats and salt marshes.
The Zwin guide is present from 11:30 to 17:00.

A unique saltwater lab
Birds love the tidal area because of the extensive menu they find there! Shrimp, crabs, worms, mussels – all these organisms are favorites of our feathered friends. In the saltwater lab, we study these delicacies up close, giving you a deeper insight into the food that birds are so fond of.
The Zwin guide is present from 12:30 to 17:00.

Children’s activities
Young visitors can also explore the Zwin at their own pace!

Make your own fossil
Step into the shoes of an archaeologist, make your own fossil, and learn more about prehistoric animals and the landscape they lived in. A creative workshop as part of Doggerland, the submerged landscape beneath the North Sea.
From 11:30 to 17:00 – in the foyer, 1st floor of the visitor center.

Come and listen to a fascinating story in the forest hut!
From 14:00 to 16:45.

Children aged 6-12 can take part each day in the Fly’s Treasure Hunt.
This year’s theme is ‘Do you hear what I hear?’
The Zwin Whistler, a very rare bird, has lost its unique song and no longer whistles as beautifully as before. Will you help the Zwin Whistler find its lovely sounds again?
This treasure hunt is jointly organised with the municipality of Knokke-Heist.
