Zwin Nature Park
Rewilding is essential, but to ensure a first-class experience for you we also need to perform continuous maintenance. Each day, we endeavour to maintain and improve the living conditions of our flora and fauna. With its 314 bird species, the Zwin is one of the areas of Belgium that is richest in birds, and its 650 plant species make it a paradise for botanists.
One of Europe’s best reserves
The exhibition gives you a bird’s-eye view of this magnificent European reserve: begin over the sea and fly over mudflats, tidal marshes, and dunes until you reach the polders. Explore the beauties of nature and find out why large-scale projects and day-to-day maintenance are so important.
The travelling exhibition ‘LIFE DUNIAS – Dune restoration’ is included in this exhibition and focuses on weed management.
Our herbivore helpers keep them under control and welcome our visitors!
This exhibition is an initiative by Agentschap voor Natuur en Bos and the Zwin Nature Park, led by rewilding project LIFE DUNIAS.
