The species to look out for in December: common shelduck.

At this time of the year, large numbers of waterfowl winter in the Zwin’s wetlands, including various species of geese, ducks and waders, such as the greater white-fronted goose, common shelduck and grey plover. The numbers fluctuate depending on how harsh the winter weather is.
