Summer in the Zwin

Wildlife Photographer of the Year
The 55th edition of the “Wildlife Photographer of the Year” international exhibition will once more be travelling from London to Zwin Nature Park. Look at 100 of the world’s most spectacular nature photographs.

What can you see on the breeding islands?
A Zwin guide is available all day at the observation cabin to supply visitors with information about the birds that use the breeding islands to rest and feed.
Use the fixed Swarovski telescope to take a closer look at the birds on the island. Don’t hesitate to ask the guide!

Sea- and freshwater creatures under the magnifying glass
In the lab cabin, you can observe tiny freshwater creatures, and at the observation centre you can take a closer look at salt water wildlife.
Bird ringing
Would you like to find out more about the importance of bird ringing and how bird ringers work?
In July, a film will be shown in the ringing cabin about bird ringing, and in August you can watch demonstrations for yourself.
As of 1 August, the ringers will be present each day from 10:00 to 12:00.
Children’s activities
The Zwin Nature Park also offers activities every day for its youngest visitors.
A story is read from 11:00 to 14:15 and games can be played between 14:15 and 17:30.

Fly Treasure Hunt
Children aged 6 to 12 can take part in the Fly Treasure Hunt.
This treasure hunt is organised in cooperation with the municipality of Knokke-Heist.
